Woman fatally stabbed during fight at outside trailer in Concord | Crime

CONCORD, NC (WBTV) - A Charlotte woman has been arrested and charged with murder after police say she fatally stabbed another woman Monday night at a mobile home in Concord.

According to the Cabarrus County Sheriff's website, 22-year-old Dakota Lynn Castner was arrested and charged with murder on Tuesday morning.

Deputies said they received a call for help from a trailer just off Untz Road around 8:54 p.m. Monday night. When they arrived, they say they found a woman with stab or slashing-type wounds.

According to deputies, officers found 20-year-old Kadi Ann Paden with at least one severe knife wound to the neck. She died from her injuries on the scene.

Deputies say a neighbor called 911 saying Paden had just been stabbed with a knife.

After an investigation, deputies determined that Paden and Castner knew each other.

It was also indicated that they got into some type of argument that became physical. The altercation appeared to then move out to the street in front of a home on Untz Road, where the Paden was stabbed.

Paden then apparently ran from the street and fell in the backyard of her home, which is also along Untz Road, where she later died.

After several hours of combing the area, the Sheriff's Office was able to locate Castner in a large wooded area behind the scene on Untz Road, and took her into custody.  

Castner was charged with murder and she is being held under "no bond" at this time.

She is reportedly from Charlotte, however she had been staying in the area for the last month or so.
